The Uniquely Singapore campaign has been around for quite a while and it certainly has taken quite a beating from Singaporeans who simply cannot understand why we use a tagline like Uniquely Singapore.

So how unique are we? Take a go at the websites of these three icons and see if you can guess which are their urls (there are two urls for some).

Jurong BirdPark
a. www.jurongbirdpark.com
b.
www.jurongbirdpark.com.sg
c. www.birdpark.com
d. www.birdpark.com.sg
e. www.jbp.com
f. www.jpb.com.sg

Singapore Zoo
a. www.zoo.com
b. www.zoo.com.sg
c. www.singaporezoo.com
d. www.singaporezoo.com.sg

Singapore Airlines
a. www.sia.com
b. www.sia.com.sg
c. www.singaporeair.com
d. www.singaporeair.com.sg
e. www.singaporelines.com
f. www.singaporeairlines.com.sg

Here are the answers, for Jurong BirdPark, the urls are c and d, Singapore Zoo is b and for Singapore Airlines, it c and d.

It is very amazing that when you type in the proper name for all three icons, you will not get to the sites! Is the cost of buying a url to link it back to the main site so difficult? I really wonder how foreigners would be able to find the sites if there is no links.
Maybe that is what search engines are for.

It is also fascinating that one can get to Jurong BirdPark's site by typing www.birdpark.com. Wonder if people might mistake it for being in the States.

But than Singapore Toursim Board is not much, typing www.singaporetourismboard.com or www.singaporetourismboard.com.sg will bring you no where too. The correct url is www.stb.com.sg. So much for Uniquely Singapore when we drop the unique name of our icons from their url to a generic name.

Which is more unique? www.singaporezoo.com.sg or www.zoo.com.sg?
