Something that I like about here is that the locals have a chocolate and nuts culture. Maybe culture is not that effective a word to use, it should be that the locals have an obsession with chocolates and love nuts.
The range of chocolate here is literally quite ashstonsing with isles dedicated to treats like chocolates and candy. Not only that, almost every checkout counter is stocked with a variety of chocolate. I know this example is abit late but the amount of chocolate on sale during Easter is mind bloggling. Apparently the locals consume the most Easter chocolate in the world and I am not surprised. Any store you enter during Easter will be filled to the brim with chocolate. The bigger stores will have isles and isles filled with them.
Also, chocolate seems to be the gift of choice for any occasion. In almost any shopping centre, you will find at least one one shop that specialises in chocolates. Prices wise do vary and as the saying goes, "you get what you pay", price does matter. Have realised that the cheaper ones tend to be really bad in taste as they tend to be very sweet and have very little cocoa taste.
Other snack that is abundent here is nuts. Almost any departmental store will carry them. The supermarkets too carry a fairly wide range. However, for the best choice, it will have to be those organic supermarkets. Prices are very reasonable and they are fresh. Currently having an obsession with Brazil nuts and freshly made peanut butter. The latter is just way tasty and have no sugar. Just imagine peanut butter with a strong peanut taste.
On the old topic of sunglasses, I think I am more or less resigned to getting prescription ones if I want to keep my sight. The irony is that this comes just as I thought of cutting cost by wearing clip ons or those google likes that you wear over glasses. Reason for the change in mind was because the person in the shop was desuading me from getting the wear ons as they were way too ugly and I cannot get proper clip ons because of the size of my glasses. Talk about problem with glasses.
