An article in the Straits Times just had me laughing big time. It was in the forum where this guy wrote in to ask the Traffic Police to comment why he was asked to move on by a Cisco guard when he was stopping on the yellow line.

Come on, stopping on a yellow line in a busy area and expect to get away with it? He is considered lucky for not getting summoned. He even dared said that he was stopping directly behind legal lots. He mentioned about why the need for the double yellow line when there are the zig zag yellow lines. For starters, the zig zag ones result in demerit points too.

What next? A guy who failed a robbery attempt writing to the forum to question why he should be charged since it was a failed robbery attempt and there was no personal loses to the victim etc?

A new experience will begin at midnight tonight because we will be entering Level Three of water restriction. What that means is that watering plants and washing cars etc can only be done using a pail; no more use of water hoses. Apparently Level Four is the complete ban on watering plants and washing cars.

It is really fascintating as I cannot remember the last time Singapore had something like this so this is a whole new experience. The good thing is that most of the locals are pretty much discipline and follow the rules. The same cannot be said for some foreign students as I have seen some of them while washing their cars with the hose would play with the hose.

Anyway, sometimes I wonder why the locals do not have the habit to wash their cars with pails? Maybe it is because of the size of the cars (some of them are way hugh) or could it be because their cars are so dirty that they have no choice but to hose it down. You will be amazed by how dirty some of the cars are. Some look as though it has not been washed for maybe six months or a year. Worse still would be the SUVs, some of them mud that looks months old on them. Maybe if they use it more often (say twice a month) and polish it more often, they can actually use a pail to wash and save water.
