blue and white dream

I agree that getting a car is quite an extravagant thing to get as it's really for the sake of convinience. But somehow, this convinience reason is really a good one. Yes, the transportation network will bring you to just about everywhere but the timings which they come can be very infrequent. Yes, I've blogged about this before but missing a bus or train can result in you waiting for an hour or so. It can really be quite frustrating and I must admit that the thought of missing a bus or train is really a big turn off. It's really one of the reasons why I'm literally couped up at home 27/7; especially during the weekends.

I love exploring the place an all, but usually the more interesting places are pretty far. Travelling say 20km here will probably take you about an hour or so via public transport and that excludes the waiting time. The good and bad thing about the transport system is that most bus routes are pretty short. Good is that if you only need to stick to a route, you'll probably reach there quite fast. Bad is when you got to go to further places, you got to change the mode of transport a few times. Another frustrating thing is how they charge. The way they charge is by the number of zones you travel and what happen is to get from point A to point B, there maybe more than one way of going.

What I mean is that if you take buses there, you might need to get a zone 1-4 ticket. If you take a train, maybe a zone 2-5 ticket. If you take a different bus, maybe a zone 2-4 ticket. Sounds confusing? Well, that's very much how I feel to. Somehow, you have to be very careful not to take the "wrong" bus unless you're willing to part with a couple of hundreds. Hence getting a car may not be too bad an idea. Now to find the money to buy one. Hmm, suddenly lottery sounds like a good idea.

I really don't know what life has installed for me. It all seems so fuzzy and incoherent. Ups and downs are inevitable they say, but they never tell you how fast downs can come and how long they will stay. They also never tell you how fast ups can come and go. Somehow life seems to be filled with more downs than ups. Really wonder why. Maybe it's to make us realise how wonderful the feeling of ups can be.

They say that life's too short to waste it on anything, but I think that 75 years (for males) is pretty much a long time to live. Well, I would say that for myself, I think 75 years for me to live is pretty long a time. I really don't know. Maybe I'm just weird. Somehow or other, I can't seem to visualisemyself living till 75. Everytime I cross the carpark to get home, I have this feeling that someday, I would get run down by a car there. No, I'm not sucidal, but I'm just thinking about life.

A thing that I really like about here is the nights. The sky is filled with stars. Yes, I know I sound himbo but the sight of all the stars in the sky is really soothing and beautiful. It's not like in Singapore where the stars are mainly hidden. Here the stars are just a sight to behold. And not to mention about the occasion shooting star. The skies here are also very beautiful. On most days we'll get almost cloudless skies, so what you'll see is just endless blue. It gets prettier at dusk after a heavy rain. The whole place will just glow in a very warm orange. Everything just seems so pretty.

Was really nice to catch up with Elise today. Really nice to hear that she's doing fine in Melbourne. Hmm. Wondering now how Elwin is doing in the States.

The MTV on Penn's blog was really nostalgic. Seemed to bring back a lotof memories. I mean I first saw the MTV think at the start of 2002? And some how or other, it keeps popping up every now and than. I must say that it is one of the better Korean MTVs. At least in terms of the technical sense. Anyway, what's with Koreans and these sappy MTVs?

Am still quite shocked to find out about the sudden death of the SAF officer COL Bernard Tan. I mean, it was just less than six months ago that was preparing documents for him and now he's suddenly gone. He's a damn fit guy and one who is really impressive work wise. I think his staff do enjoy working under him. So cruel life can be, to take away one so young with his whole career path so perfectly mapped out for him.
