blue and white dream

Orientation's not as happening or fun as expected. In fact, i's damn disappointing. The Asian students here are a total embarassment. Not all, but quite a huge number. Why I say this? While the speaker was on stage, they started walking out of the audi. It became so bad that the MC had to literally plea to get them to stay. What they do? They look at her and continue walking out. One of the speakers had to run up the stage to give his information in hope that as much students get the information as possible. So much of being educated.

My programme's orientation is quite a bore too. My programme has like only 50 to 60 students and think there are less than 10 foreign students. The locals are quite stucked up. Tried to strike a conversation with some of them and they would give you one, two word answers before talking and joking with their own kind. I got this feeling that those in the programme don't have a clue on what they are studying. They should be here because of the perceived "glam"factor of the media. My peers are mainly like 17 year olds. The system here's very inefficient too. Only this week did we realised that the enrolment system does not reflect the units we've got credit exemption for. I mean we've been notified that we've got exemptions, but we've not idea what expemtions we've got. We were told to enrol, but were not told that we've got core units and that we need to take the units according to the majors. It's not even stated which units will lead you which majors. The impression we got (including the locals) is that we can pick any units we want.

I'm really wondering if the camera shop employees have even the slightest clue on how to use a camera and what kind of advice they can give. I went to the two biggest camera shops in the city and they do not have the slightest idea what a camera dry box/ cabinet is. When we asked them if they were selling it, they would give a blank look like. Seriously, how can they even be in the business if they have not idea on photography and it's equipment. The best advice I got from one of the shops is that there's a pro shop somewhere out of town, but she's not sure if they carry it there. If a pro shop does not carry a dry box/ cabinet or have no idea what it is, I really wonder what kind of pro shop it is.
