It's really sad to see that in tennis, doubles is taking a backseat. People seem to be more interested in watching singles games. Which is really quite sad because doubles still is intriguing and fascinating. Is this a result or sign that humans are becoming more individualistic and that team play is no longer that important? After all, the basis of any good doubles team is teamwork.
Think also that Asian tennis players should concentrate more on doubles than singles. I don't really think we have what it takes to excel in singles. It's not because we're not as good, but in terms of built and all, we're in the losing end. How many more aces can a western player rain down on us simply because they're taller? Look at China's Yan Zi, she's relatively tall by Asian standards (1.71m) but still shorter than the average western women players. Yes, there are some top players under 1.70m but these are rare. Doubles on the other hand, allows us to concentrate more on teamwork and that is something that we can exploit. Look at Zheng Jie and Yan Zi, they're flying the flag well for the Asians. They're just beaten two top 10 seeds in the women's doubles, whereas there are no more Asians in the singles, be it Asian men or women. Hope the remaining Asians can go far in doubles. Would be nice to see the two Chinese girls win the women doubles.

Not sure what to call it. maybe it's a sign of me getting more mature. I'm actually turning down a chance to get a dslr. Been thinking about whether it's worth getting it or should I actually use that amount of money on some things that I may need more. I actually chose the latter.
I weighed the pros and cons on whether I should I buy and the pros of getting it actually outweighs the cons. I'm still pondering about whether I should get it. One thing to make me change my mind is prob if I can get a real good deal. Guess I might decide by this week. If not, maybe I'll just get a lens for my current cam. Saves me hell up lots of money if I get the lens only.
Maybe by ignoring the pros and opting for the cons, I've just shown that by thinking that I've actually shown more maturity, I'm actually still immature.
