Am very proud for Alvin Pang. Man, he has done damn well in Poly and fully deserves the Lien Ying Chow Gold Medal along with the other medals and awards. No one else actually deserves it more than him. Yes, nobody. The best thing is that he did it all on his own, meaning that he worked for it.
On a complete different note. Was with Mag and her friends at Paragon's Coffee Club when we saw this damn cocky looking guy trying to show off to his friends his Canon EOS 20D. With the lens that was the camera, I suspect the entire thing would cost about $4,000 or even more. The way he was showing off to his friends was just so... yuck. It does not help that this guy probably does not know anything about photography. I'm not at all surprised that the 20D was his first SLR. What makes me think so? Well, his right hand was holding on the camera (nothing wrong with this), and he was holding on and focusing his camera using his thumb and index finger. Yes, he was balancing a fairly big lens and trying to shoot with only his two fingers. I suspect the lens was probably 70mm to 200mm, so yea, it's not the smallest of lenses. If you think that was bad, he was trying to take think the food with the same lens. Of course that would not be a problem unless your lens is less than 15cm from the subject. Yes, that was exactly what he was doing, shooting at a macro distance (or even too close for mist macro lenses) using a telefocal lens.
Still on photography, Mag's friend Erica is really not too bad at it. At least those I've seen were quite nice. Well taken and touched up pretty well. Can imagine some of them looking really good in a frame and on the wall.
Know this is a bit late but terrorism has shown it's total disrespect for mankind. All I can say to all terrorist and terrorism supporters is... fuck you.
