blue and white dream

Watched Love me if you dare with Daffy yesterday. Quite a funny show but was confusing at times. Some of their dares were super sia!

Wisma's Levis is probably the worst among all the Levis outlets in Singapore! Was there yesterday and I asked the staff what were the colour ranges of 501s they had. Without even looking he just pointed out at there was only one colour available. I was quite surprised by his answer cos how can there be only one colour left of their flagship jeans?? I than realised that there were a few other 501s hanging in front of me and there were in different colours so I went like, "Oh, are these 501s? Or are they not male 501s?" He than gave me a rather irritated look and brushed it off saying "yea". Fine, than I asked him if there were any other sizes for one of them. He took it off the hanger and without even checking the store, he said that it was the last piece. Later I happen to see another staff member opening the store and saw that the room was filled with jeans to the limit. So you mean the store is so full but you do not have sizes?? Wow, is Levis abandoning their roots and stop selling their most recognised and best selling jeans??

Looked around again and saw that the 518s were also quite nice. So I ask the staff for sizes again. The guy said that got no size again. After he left I checked the pile and guess what, I found the size within it. I also could not help but notice how freaking lazy their staff was. The corner was quite pack but the staff were not attending to the customers. There were two of the staff packing a pair of jeans for a customer! How difficult can it be pack a pair of jeans?? And the time they were taking was still super slow!

Than I was at the toilet at Wisma and there was a urinal overflowing big time. The water was spilling over onto the floor and I think within 10 minutes, the whole floor will be flooded. On my way out, I saw the cleaner and told her that the urinal was overflowing and she said very defensively, "I don't know" so I told her, "ok, so I'm telling you know that the urinal is overflowing very badly". But her tone and reply was the same so I just could be bothered and left. Since she did not bother, why should I, after all, I'm not the person who was going to clean up the mess.

Later when I was on the train, I overheard this American commenting very loudly to a Singaporean on his experience with some exchange he had with Malaysians. He was saying that Malaysians gave boring speeches as they were filled with statistics. He than went about saying that how interesting the speeches that they Americans give. He said that their style was like telling story etc. Maybe its their style to give "credible" speeches but trying to smoke their audience, but he got to understand that Asians are not so shallow, we need to back up out statements with facts. We do not believe in telling stories and smoking our audiences simply because we give our speeches to smart people. We really cannot help that our audiences are smarter than their audiences. But the way he ended his talk was priceless. He was laughing when he said that the Malaysians gave him a blank look when he was giving his speech. The way he put it was that his speech was too "cheem" for his audience. Typical American. My opinion is that its the reverse! The audiences must be thinking what the fuck is this guy saying? His speech is like a kid talking, and probably our Asian kids can give more credible speeches! And how good can your speech be if your target audience cannot understand??

Singaporeans sure never cease to fascinate me. All the major shopping centres are jam pack and so are the restaurants. Even the designer boutiques are pack. Walked pass Gucci yesterday and saw that they were stands for people to queue in. Prada next door was also super pack. You've got to queue more than half and hour to enter Isetan and queue about and hour at least to pay. People stream out of all these shops with big plastic bags! Yet people claim that they cannot afford to buy school uniforms! People are buying less uinforms cos of the economic downturn. How come they got no money to buy uniform yet our shopping centres and restaurants are so pack? Not only that, we seem to be constantly buying brand new cars and handphones!

Saw AK on Party in the Park. Ok, I watched it for them and must say that they were real good. Biased, maybe but really feel that they have improved tremendously through the years. A transformation from a simple trio who nearly did not make it to one of UK's
hottest groups, to one of their most exportable artiste. Though i know some of you will not agree, their dancing has also improved. Not as slick as Janet and J Lo but still an improvement.

Also caught Britney's first world tour. The concert was a mix between her old and current image. Not too bad I will say. Teasing but still doing it with dignity. If only she remained that Britney, but guess what she's doing now maybe aiding her career; sex sells personified. Somehow, feel that she and Christina are really going down Maddy's path. The Maddy of the 80s is probably more controversial and who would have expected her to last till today? Who would have thought that she will be what she is today?

Merry Christmas!

Attended midnight mass and hard no regrets. Met so many people whom I've not met for so long and managed to catch up with those who I do meet quite often in church but never got to really talk to them. So happy to see people Becky, Angie, Arthur, Moarie, Paul, Mer after so long. Probably always go for different time masses that's why never meet them. Glad to have been able to catch up with Cass and Ligna too. Those two girls are just so super busy that never really got the chance to meet up with them. Cass's the first person who actually said that I did not put on weight! Haha. But happiest was being able to finally meet Daffy. Man, really miss her, but what to do? She's always to busy. Saw also Kristy but did not get to talk to her. She's lost weight though and looked absolutely stunning.

Went down to Hotel Royal Plaza to meet the guys. Turn out was smaller than usual but still had fun. Had about nine people in total. By the time I reached about 2 am, the guys had drank quite a bit so did not drink much. Drank only Gordon Bleu and Cointreau. Cointreau kind of suck when drinking by shots. Taste certainly much better with mixers. At breakfast, Wil and Jop was saying that we should cut our this lifestyle and stop drinking. New Year's resolution will probably be the similar as Wil; to cut down on drinking, especially beer. Not that I drink a lot in the first place but guess when like drinking beer, instead of drinking a six pack at a go, should cut down to like at most two cans. Better still if cut down to sero. That means also that from now, mahjong sessions will be purely mahjong sessions and no booze.

Usually do not keep to resolutions. But am quite determined to keep this one. The last and probably the only resolution I've managed to keep was the one I made two year back. Resolved to be nice to Daffy. Yea, she kind of challenged me to that resolution and I actually managed to keep to it. For an entire year, never suan her and must say that even till today, never suan her much at all. Considering I've been hanging out with her so much that year and still did not suan her at all. It's been quite a feat. Haha. So if I did it than, that means I can keep next's year's resolution too!

Listening to Christmas carols now. At least what I still have on my comp. Haha. Yea, of cos my fav is AK's Last Christmas! Always try not to hear carols on other times of the year. Don't want to spoil the feel of Christmas. Guess Christmas is just one of those very special days, though spoilt by commercialism, it still has this very feel good feeling. Passes in just a blink of an eye but leaves behind a special feeling. A warm fuzzy feeling.

Speaking about AK, missed Party in the palace today! Caught the end and saw them on it. Arghz! Goes down as another miss. The last time missed them on TV was last season's Champions League! Caught the match only before the kick off so missed the entire built up or should I say the opening of the finals!

Was wondering what all the hype was about Love Actually especially when even till today, its sold out like two hours before the show! Melly and I were super lucky cos we managed to get seats because someone cancelled their tickets. Of the seven counters at Lido, we actually managed to get to counter seven to get the last pair of tickets! Haha, yea and after watching the show, we've got no regrets rushing down from GV Marina to Lido and to queue for about 15-20 minutes just to get the tickets. How would I describe the show? A heart warming show that is so so so sweet that you begin to wonder, "damn, this is only cinematic make believe but crap, I sure wish that it was real and that I'm part of it!" Yup, its that sweet. They really made everything so make believe, as if its out of a dream that we wish you'll never wake up from.

Met Peijun at Shaw. Was actually surprised when I got her message. Thought she'll only be back on 23. Happy to see her and it was really nice and sweet of her to go all the way to Cambodia to make a difference to someone's lives. Pretty sure that their trip gave others a reason to live. It's not as if Cambodians are weaklings etc, but its always nice to know that there are others out there caring for you, especially when its people from other countries. Brings to life the passage, "Love one another as I have loved you".

Caught the Lecce - Juve game on Sunday and I'll rarely say anything bad about Juve but man, they really did not deserve to draw that game let alone win it. They way they played can be summed up in one word, crap. Yes, they played in pure Italian fashion - looking down on supposedly weaker teams and subsequently and deservingly went down by a goal. They upped a tempo after the goal but seriously they hardly could threaten Lecce. Sorry Marcelo Lippi, you may have had won plenty for Juve but seriously your tactics are super weird! Is Davids injured?? I don't think so right" Than why is he not on the field and instead is the unreliable Appiah? The majority of his touches really make one wonder what's he doing on the field? Why did Trezeguet not start right from the game? Are you guys relly intending to sell him to Chelsea?? Pay him his deserved salary and forget about Euro 2000. Cannot help but suspect had Trezeguet not scored the winner against Italy at the finals, he'll be paid what he deserves. Why also was Di Viao playing the full game? Yes, he did show moments of brillance but on the whole he was not playing his best or should I say no where near his best. Maybe it's too quick to judge but come May and we'll see if you made the right calls during the season; forcing the fantastic players on the bench. You promised the European Champions League this season, you said that if Juve does not win the Champions League this season, you'll resign. Let you know, we are watching.

On the other hand, got to say Man U played a brilliant first half. They way they controlled the game and played such flowing football was really football at its very best. They are really beginning to play beautiful football. Now they can concentrate on beautiful football for the entire game and not for just one half. Bolton's really the team to watch especially at the Reebok Stadium. They are really a hard nut to crack there. Really wonder how well they'll do if their away form is like that.

Went to for Penitential at Holy Spirit and saw Liz. Always such a delight to see her. It's my first time at their new church and must say that I'm very impressed by it. The inside is so white and it gives the church a very bright look. Welcoming too. Really lifts up one when one enters it. The inside is also very simple and pleasant. Nothing seems out of place, just so comforting to look at. The parishioners too were very impressive. Not sure if the priests are strict but was surprised that the vast majority were very well dressed. Do not recall seeing a single girl in spaghetti strap even though it was a sunny day. Those I saw outside brought along jackets to wear when they entered the church. The inside was not exactly very cool and still they had them on. The room that was built for small children was actually used so there was hardly and crying children. Phone discipline was practised. Think only one phone rang through the entire one and a half hours service and the phone was quickly silenced. Wow, if CTK's parishioners can also be so disciplined. Tha will really be such a wonderful sight. Have always wondered why the room for children was never used. Why would parents rather allow their children to cry so loudly and play when mass is going on. Same applies for phones, its bad enough when a phone rings, but its sure worse when the person picks it up during mass!
