A super eventful end to the week. Starting with Friday, met Elwin at Cine for dinner and saw this group of teenagers or in Elgin's words, "young punks" at Cine's basement. There was this barricade there and one of them leaned on it and one of the bars fell. A security guard came and confiscated two of the teenagers' ICs and brought them to their security post. Than went to Elwin's place to play mahjong and found out that his neighbour got murdered. Below his block had like two Forensic vans aka CSI vans. First time seeing such vans actually cos the only time I've seen it was on TV. Mahjong was not so eventful though I could had gamed twice only for Elwin and Ami to game with the exact same tile cos they were "ahead in the queue". O well, the big winner was no surprise. It's none other than the pro gambler Willie Chan.
Met up with Penn, Brian, Keng, JY and Melly for dinner. The initial place we sat was like a hot spot for people asking for donations. We got approached twice and trust me, it was quite irritating towards the end. After the second person we immediately changed seats. That supposed inspirational speaker really bored us. She actually came over and asked us to buy her books for three for $50. Three of the same books mind you. If she can be an inspirational speaker cum writer, I really believe 90% of the popluation can be one two and 60% will be over qualified. After dinner the guys went to Waterbar and I went home. Haha, getting old lah. Yes Peijun, laugh. On the way back saw this girl confront another girl whom was her friend. The girl who was confronted walked away for about 10 steps and the other girl will again pull her roughly to the side and speak to her in an aggressive tone. Did not bother to hear what it was about but it seems like the girl was betrayed or maybe its a case of one girl 'snatching' the other girl's boyfriend.
The weekend was a bad weekend for soccer. At least the teams I like. Juve got smacked by Inter. I got this feeling that Juve became complacent after seeing Inter getting thrashed 5-1 or was it 6-1 by Arsenal. Man U fell to upstarts Chelski. Really feel that Mr Roman Abramovic is killing the entire game. Really hope they do not win the EPL or horror of horrors the Champions League! I got no qualms if any team win the EPL, heck even if its Arsenal simply because these teams succeed because of who they are. Their success is based on their own capablities but Chelski is the other way round. They are good simply because they have a rich owner who is willing to spend. If Abramovic is really convicted because of corruption charges, Chelski will certainly end up like Leeds. Without Abramovic, Chelski will probably have no money to keep their stars. Their youth are also not self developed, they are simply bought! Can they be successful than? If Real Madrid can do it, so can Chelski.
Australia played superbly well to win the Davis Cup. Mark Philippoussis was simply amazing yesterday. He showed o much will in the fifth set by winning it 6-0 despite an injury. Maybe this is the start of his domination.
