blue and white dream

Was at Cine last night with Elwin and Joseph. Met them for makan at Pasta Mania. Was pleasantly surprised by their Beef Bolognise cos it was really not too bad. Quite enjoyed it. While sitting there talking, saw lots of familiar faces pass by.

Walked to Isetan later cos we were really tempted by Jop's new drink, vodka coffee. So we thought of going there to buy a small bottle of vodka and coffee to try how it tastes like. Joseph was saying that we must really see if we can get the effect of want to sleep but cannot sleep cos alcohol supposedly relaxes you while coffee keeps you awake. But reached there too late, Isetan was closed by than.

Went to Borders to look around and they really got some damn interesting books. Sounds duh but yea, realised that Michael Moore has quite a few books, all the long thought that he had only like two to three books. Stephen Ambrose has a new book too, yup, he's the guy who wrote Band of Brothers. Saw also a book by Michael Durant, the pilot who was captured in Somalia. Fiesty guy who survived the entire capture thanks to some decent Somalis who wanted him to live through it all in hope that he can paint a sane impression of them.

"Got" a message from Peijun. Haha, it really sounded weird but since I was rather bored so I decided to patronise the sender and true enough, it was not her who send it. Haha. It was her this bo liao friend who did it. Man, some things people will do for cheap thrill. O yah, don't worry so much lah, I knew that it wasn't you who send it. But if you really feel bad than next time stop teasing me about you know what lah. Haha. Glad that you managed to find your wallet. Enjoy your hols!

Went back to Shaw to sit around and met Gary. Chatted with him till Pam showed up. Left them and we sat around again to just talk cock. Went back after that. Yup, another uneventful Saturday night.

Man, prices have really gone up sia. Italia is now $13.10! Used to be only $11+. Sheesh, wanted so much to get it and was so happy when I saw it at WH Smith, but problem was one the price than it was the condition of the magazine. Looked around and to my dismay there was no new copy. That copy was super jia lat, worse than those magazines in the barber shop sia. Wonder if I should go get Four Four Two also. Tempted to. Wonder how is The League, never really got to read it. Speaking of magazine, still haven't order National Geographic!! Still remember once telling Sher how I should really go get it, but till today still haven't get it. Trust me, by the end of this hols, I'll still be lamenting of not getting it.

Was watching the start of yesterday's Rugby World Cup between New Zealand and South Africa. Was impressed by the players and fans singing their national anthem. Yea, its a common spectacle at sporting events but the intense look of the players was amazing. Could feel their love for their country. Of course who would ever miss the Haka? It really makes the All Blacks that more impressive.

Went to school today to help with Penn's recording. Though they had such a small crew, they still managed to pull off a good piece. Kudos to them.

Went to Lau Pa Sat with Penn, Yah Yah and Melly after recording. We had let's see, satay, sting ray, mee goreng, bee hoon goreng, chicken wings and drinks, no not booze. Yup, it was a lovely dinner with excellenct company too. Met Poh Ling there too with her almost *ahem*. Walked to Esplanade with them and sat down to watch the ending of a performance. Sat around to chat after. Yea, it was so relaxing. When we left Esplanade, we were talking about chocolates. Yea, we promised to save money to go for a chocolate buffet and to makan at the chocolate place at the Esplanade.

I cannot believe, Class 95 actually read out my dedication! Haha, was rather bored early this morning so I send a dedication via the net to be read out supposedly this morning but they just read it out. Haha, as what Penn said just now, "better late then never".

Was amazed by Washington Post. They have a page dedicated to the fallen soldiers in Iraq. Yup, those fallen after the war was declared on. It allows the reader to click and read a small caption on each of the soldier. Name and how he was killed. Really impressed.

US having a new Special Operations to hunt down people like Saddam and Osama. Wow, they are really serious sia. US Special Ops have always impressed me, be it their secretive Delta Force or Navy Seals or Green Berets. Heck, I've been fascinated by all Special Ops, like the British SAS and even those in the SAF. Yea, for the shit these people have gone through, they deserve our respect.

Still remember how I used to read the articles pertaining to the 101st Airbourne during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Yup, those people who first made their debut at Normandy on June 6, 1944. Easy Company. Rings a bell? Yea, its the people shown on Band of Brothers. There was a quote that spoke about why they, paratroopers were mad. Cos they are the only peoplo who will jump off a perfectly fine plane behind enemy lines. Than there was this quote I found -

George Rice: It looks like you guys are going to be surrounded.
Richard Winters: We're paratroopers Lieutenant. We're supposed to be surrounded.

Holland's coach's name really suits him sia. Dick Advocaat feels that, "'In principle I have said Van Nistelrooy and Kluivert will not play together against Scotland and I still feel that way." Yea, he's dropping van Nistelrooy over Kluivert. What the hell sia! Though van Nistelrooy reacted rather bad when he was substituted against Czech Republic, still he had apologised! But he is dropping one of the world's most feared striker and a striker who is proving to be one of the finest the world has ever seen. No wonder he is called Dick sia!

Stayed at home for the entire day. Just really slacking and doing nothing at all. Sheesh, not exactly the way I want to pass my time sia. Watched one disc of Godfather Part Two and rewatched Return of the Jedi. After that tried to do a new blog template but after I put it up, i took it down, don't know why but I still like this template. Spend the rest of the day playing on the comp and watching TV.

O yah, yesterday saw the poster of Irreversible at Cine yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised in the way cos I've heard and read a lot about this how, how critically acclaimed it is and the amount of awards it has managed to garner. Yup, another controversial film by Monica Bellucci. Irreversible stars also her real life hubby Vincent Cassel. I am almost certain that this show will be rated R(a) but I hope it will not be censored. Yea, its basically about sex and violence. It's supposed to be one of the most controversial films by Monica Bellucci. Wonder when it will open. Surfed around Cine's site and realised that they have quite a few interesting shows coming up. At least something to look foward too. Haha.

Matrix Revolutions was quite a disappointment. They should really had stopped at Matrix or at most reloaded. Revolutions had not only lame one liners (quite a lot in fact) but also not so brilliant fight scenes. Scenes that were supposed to be captivating actually turned out funny and corny, so yea, you can know what to expect. Advice for those catching it, don't expect too much out of it otherwise you'll just leave the theatre rather cheated.

Amazing, that's how I would describe this morning's Champions League results. Man U 3 Rangers 0. Ok, its not surprsing that Man U will win this fixture but its amazing how one goal can make so much of a difference. Look at van Nistelrooy, he has not scored for so long and you could see his lack of confidence thoughout his game till he socred that fluke goal. Luck as it may had been but it was enough to see the brilliance of "van the man"! He was amazing in the second half, his touches was wow. Than came the second goal, pure striker's instinct. Right timing and all, good to see him regain that confidence. Not to mention also that Diego Forlan has finally showed why Fergie paid good money for him. Four goals in as many games. Keane too was amazing, look at the way he rallied the team around. Look at the way he blasted van Nistelrooy when van Nistelrooy did not play as a team at times. The way he pushed the team on when complaceny had seemed to had set in. Next stop, Anfield on Sunday.

Chelsea too choked up a convincing win. A 0-4 win away to Lazio. Humiliating the Italian team in their own backyard. They got to count their lucky stars cos feel that Carlo Cudicini was at his inspired best, as usual though. Poor Mancini, think Lazio is really in trouble. Ironic too that it was the old boys that caused all the trouble. Crespo and Veron were also the main players to feature in the game with the former scoring the first goal.

Was touched by what The Telegraph wrote about the Mrs LKY's incident in London,

"The Telegraph, in its editorial headlined 'Unhealthy NHS', expressed sympathy for Mr Lee and lamented the state of Britain's health service.

It said that any ordinary, sensitive person would understand why Mr Lee had sought to have his wife brought back to Singapore for treatment.

Noting that the full details of what really happened that night might never emerge, it said that it would be 'wrong to blame Mr Lee' if his wife did jump the queue.

'Anyone who has ever faced such desperate circumstances in a hospital in the middle of the night can only sympathise with his actions.

Precisely because the NHS is free at the point of use, we have no enforceable rights as patients and have to accept what we are given,' the newspaper said.

'Mr Lee's actions may cause an outcry, but the truth is he behaved as any loving husband would, if only he could.'"

Yup, I cannot agree more. Liked in particular the final paragragh, really touching sia. Come on guys, let's face it, though LKY did not cut queue, but what's wrong with cutting queue in such circumstances? If any of you are in the same situation in such a circumstance, would you also not do it? If you say you will not, I can only conclude that you are either a fucking bigot or some cold blooded bastard.

The policy that is a talking point these days is the non refundable five dollars for the EZ Link card. Come on, the people who will be most affected are lesser well off Singaporeans. And what's wrong with EZ Link "bleeding"?? You guys are bloody offering a PUBLIC SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your job is to offer a service that the citizens need. If you made a bad business decision by implenting the EZ Link, please do not expect us to pay for it. Was irked by what LTA's deputy chief executive officer Low Tien Sio said,

"At the end of the day, he said, to keep costs down for everybody - including commuters - a company should survive as an operating entity.

'The question I ask you is: How many years should EZ-Link bleed?'
"

How cocky can you get?? If you made a mistake, just admit it, please do not dig deeper and infuriate more people with such cocky remarks.

Happy is an understatement. Yup, the dreaded exams are over. Yes!

Went to see JY along with Yah Yah, Keng and Melly after the paper to celebrate with her a belated birthday. Glad to see JY again. All the horror she had to go through while staying in the hospital. Though she didn't say much about the stay but come on, we all know how horible it is to be warded. Glad she's out. Poor girl. But her sister's friend was really sweet, she was at her house taking care of JY.

Went looking around for a cake for her and in the end we not only bought her a cake but we also decided to celebrate with durians. Haha. Yup, they were great! As Keng said, the heartlander's way of celebrating the end of the exams! Wanted to go 85 after to makan but they were washing the place so we ended up at Bedok interchange. Going back to school tomorrow to help Brian's group with their production. So for now, just gonna relax!
