What an ironyin today's game. One of the most outstanding players for Man Utd this season was the culprit that caused United to lose 1 point. They should had drawn the match but a blunder from Tim Howard allowed James Beattie to score. That's how cruel football can be. Hero for 89 min 59 seconds. 1 second lapse in concentration and you take the rap. Today's match is the 2nd game in a row that van the man has failed to find the tent. He had only a shot on goal today. A weird week especially after Andy Cole managed to score 2 goals! Yes, Andy Cole scored 2 goals! Maybe we'll see the return of lao botak behind the sticks for Man Utd. Maybe only, but I highly doubt so. He should be grinning from ear to ear now cos his upstart has flounded. Was absolutely disgusted by Beckham's comments today. Seems like he totally forgot who is the person who made him the player he is today. After leaving Man Utd, he now bites his former owner. Alex Ferguson maybe very strict but if it was not for his discipline, Man Utd will not be so successful and he will not be playing at Real today. Does he remember what happened at France 98 and the following months? If he forgot let me tell him what happened. He reacted stupidly against a Diego Simone tackle which resulted in him being sent off and being blamed for England's exit. The following months, he became the most hated person in the entire England. Who stood by him and motivated him? Dare he not say that Fergie did not motivate him and give him the strength? Who played him so that he could captain England? Please, his antics not only irked Fergie but also a number of true Man Utd fans. How come there was no mega fuss when Beckham was sold? Look at the last few games he played for Man Utd, he fully deserved to be benched. Last face it, apart from his crossing and free kicks, Beckham is of not much use on the field. He is obviously not among the best ball winners or players who can take on opponents. Who can he be a complete player if as a midfielder you cannot really take on opponents? I cannot believe the fuss over him scoring on his home debut etc. Yes, he deserves credit on scoring the goals but harlow, its only so early in the season. The press makes it seem as though his 1st few games performance is going to be his performance for the rest of the season. See how flickle the press is. When Beckham played poorly in Real 1st few games, he was damned etc. But he scores a couple of goals and he is now the "king of the world". O please...
In Serie A. Juve won their opening tie against Empoli. Wait its more than a win, it was a trashing! Juventus 5 Empoli 1! del Piero and Trezeguet scored a brace of goals each with di Viao scoring from the spot. Had del Piero not been substitued, he would had completed his hat trick. But again its only the opening tie and there are 33 more games at least left for them. 33 only I hope.
Ok, back to research.

Wanted to blog yesterday but did not have the time. Went to school early for my recording only to find the studio will not open till about 9am. JT came in at around 8.55 and was quite surprised by it cos she did not come in till about 1/2 and hour after the slated timing for the other group. She obviously was in a foul mood the moment she came in and I was asking her why and she said that she had stayed till 8 for the previous night's recording. Well her foul mood continued all the way thorugh with only her laughing during break. Think everyone in the control room got scolded by her at least once. At the end of the recording everyone was very happy and was laughing and smiling. While I was in the control room, she asked me why everyone was so happy and she asked me also if she said that the recording was good or did her face showed that it was good. Quite a sarcastic remark I must say and never quite expected her to say that. Any way, I thought that my group did well for the recording. Guess we had put in our best for it and to me that was the most important. Thought that it was also better than our previous rehearsals. Well done guys! Thanks also to Keng, Stella, Bern, Poh Ling and Vincent for coming down to help us.
Came back for a while before going to lunch and than went to John Little and Robinsons for a little window shopping. JL was damn pack cos of the $5 voucher that Straits Times gave away, but the queue at the cashiers were not exactly worth the wait. Think ST sold many copies yesterday cos saw lots of people who just bought it just for the voucher. Went to church after that and than went to to meet Jo for dinner that Fish & Co at Novena. Quite surprised to find that outlet so empty. Last night's dinner settled my craving for Fish & Co. Asked the waiter again on where they got their mints from and he told us that only Fish & Co has it in Singapore and that no where sells it. He was very nice asked us if we wanted more. Jo raised a good point, she was saying that if Fish & Co was the only compnay that borught it in, why do they not package the mint in their name? We both went down to AMK to meet Dot and play pool and around 2340, went to Jubilee to catch Pirates of the Caribbean. Must say that it was a rather funny show. Not too bad and was refreshing to see Johnny Depp in such a laughable character. I like very much the boat he was in at the start of the show. Was very unexpecting and funny. Keira Knightley was beautiful in that show though I thought that she looked better in Bend it like Beckham. Don't know why but felt that Orlando Bloom looked very much like Beckham especially his side profile at the end of the show. If I did not know it was Orlando Bloom, I would had suspected it was Beckham!

This picture at this year's MTV Video Music Awards struck me.
I never knew Britney Spears and Madonna will do something like that. O well, they both never cease to amaze me.

Kudos to the production group of Yah Yah, Keng, Bern, Joy, Pin Ji, Stella and Poh Ling (did I miss anyone out?) They reacted very well during their recording. Basically almost anything that could go wrong went wrong but their final product was quite impressive. For a few times, the recording could not go on cos the lighting just went berserk but the whole group kept focused etc. Finally in almost the final minute, they managed to start recording. Mind you, with no proper rehearsal. Credit also to JT for being the steady skipper. For what the group went through and produced, I salute them.

Got to say tahtI'm quite impressed with Angelina Jolie. She has taken up her job as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. She has indeed spoken rather well and intelligently about the issues. Moreover she too has carried herself in a very humble manner. When asked by reporters on the issues involving Chechnyan refuguees, she spoke well and informed. Quite unlike some celebrities who speak about issues just to get public support for themselves. I admit that she is probably nobody to actually comment about the issue, so what if she is UN's Goodwill Ambassador, that she is probably does not see the fine lines in the dirty game called politics etc and she should not meddle in the affairs of other countries etc. But I think she at least is using her fame to good use. At least she can use her appeal to make the youths sit up and pay attention to the real world. This so beats her using her fame to promote some product that will probably not work. Along with the 50 or so other Goodwill Ambassadors, I thank and salute you all for your time and effort on helping those who are in need.
