Just a flip through the newspapers and all the news website, I can't help but see the headlines of American troops being killed on a daily basis. Got to admit that how the war turned out has been rather of a shock. Maybe the "shock and awe" that US described was actually how their soldiers were to be gunned down on a daily basis after the war. Seems like the best weapon against the US army are AKs and RPGs. Who needs M-16s, carbines, rocket launchers, tanks, Blackhawks, Apache, humvees etc when it seems to me that the trusty AK which I easily buy for about US$14 and the supposedly old fashion RPG is inflicting so much fear and damage to the most feared army in thw world. Poor Bush and Blair are in the hot seats too after reports of some fucked up intelligence. To make things worst is troop morale is reportedly very low. Not surprised considering they are now facing a "faceless" enemy and taking a heavy toll. Cannot imagine how desperate the troops are now, not knowing when is their turn to face an RPG round head on. The often heroines and most neglected people in a war, the wives, families and close friends of the troops are feeling the pain too. Read somewhere a couple of days ago about this captain's wife who said that everytime she hears of a soldier being killed in action, her heart will stop, praying that it is not her husband. Yes, that's the kind of suffers they all have to go through. What has the leaders done? Bush as we all know is in Africa and Blair is in Japan. As Mr Bangaras had mentioned, how coincidental that they "happen" to be there. No, I'm not chainging my stance and I still believe that Saddam was rightly disposed and that his removal is for the better for the Iraqis. But a problem now is that the soldiers are not giving the Iraqis due respect and at time are using too much force against the Iraqis thus resentment. They should really learn to respect other people's culture and not force their own unto them. Will this war turn up to be like another Vietnam where troops begin to ask themseleves why are they still there etc? I really don't know but history has showned that when troop morale is low, an army will just crumble.

What a small world. Only realised that one of my friend was my old neighbour. Have known her for about 3 years now and only found out today, moreover, she's 1 day older than me. What a coincidence. There's a JC party at Embassy tonight and the tickets are going at $25. That's extortion if you ask me!. Went for the ITP breifing today and left the place wondering should I apply for it ITP 1. Got to think over it. Enjoyed the mass today, the priest was saying saying that we lack 2 'S'; solitude and silence. Cannot agree more with him. In this mad world that we live in, I'm really greatful to have any quiet time for me to just it down and reflect, which explains why sometimes I prefer to take 165 to or from school. The route maybe longer but it gives me more time to actually reflect on anything or maybe just to sit down and think about an issue. Sad that most of us probably are so busy in our daily chores that we actually fail to allocate personal time.

Quite a day today. Enjoyed today's News Writing and went down to town with Penny to get my sketch book and marker. Had lunch with her after that at the Marina foodcourt. After she went to Breeks was contemplating whether to go home or to go to the Padang for the National 'B' Division Girls Softball finals. Decided to go for the Softball in the end to watch First Toa Payoh (FTP) take on Nanyang Girls (NY). Witnessed a rather nervous match by both sides with the winner in my opinion winning because of better mental strength. Was pleasantly surprised by the turn out of both schools' supporters. FTP struck me more because being a smaller school, they had more students witnessing the final and almost all of them wore their school uniforms. NY on the otherhand, had most of their students in home clothes. So much for pride in the school. Coaches on both sides were very into their jobs and did little to hide their thoughts to their players but simply scolding and screaming at them in the middle of Padang in front of all the spectators. NY's cap had not much originality as they took full advantage of their school's initials and they players wore the caps with the letters NY with the 'Y' overlapping the 'N'. Yes, that's the cap of the Yankees. Play too was rather sporting as as when a NY player tagged an FTP player, it was rather hard but the FTP player just grabbed the sore spot, played it down and continue. All would be Rivaldos please take note that that is a true mark of sportsmanship. The player could had easily reacted as if she was struck by an RPG round in hope of getting the opponent penalised but she didn't. Was impressed by the FTP coach too cos when 1 of the NY players got striked out, she threw her helmet on the field in frustration and the coach immediately thold his charges that if any of the players were to react in the same way, she will be in trouble. In the end, after 5 innings, NY won the 'B' Divisions title by 4 runs. In the other match that took place, Tanjong Katong Girls and Raffles Girls came in third and fourth respectively.

Tried using Dreamweaver today and can't seem to get the frames right. Arghz, so damn bloody frustrating. Surfed round for a free web host and could not find a good one too. Haha, not my day. Sheesh. O well, feeling tired now, prob will sleep early. As Melly said, "So fast Thursday?" Yea, its so fast that the 2nd week of school is coming to an end. That means the work load is just going to mount. Comm Issues was fun today but the same cannot be said for PR. Don't know why but just could not concentrate.

Jill Thong has a damn loud voice sia, especially from someone who's build is like hers. Joy, Grace and I were flipping the stills, we were not wearing the headsets, but we could hear her screaming in the control room opposite our studio and our studio door was closed! Good thing is that she screams but cools down in a matter of seconds, guess that's pretty good, at least students will not be so stressed and rebel etc. PR was quite boring. Emily Yap decided to be politically correct when she wanted to find out why I'm older than the rest, so she gave subtle hints like where was I working before coming to study, but being subtle, yours sincerely could not get it. Haha. After finding out that I was already enlisted, she went like I must really like to study cos I had the will to study after army. I was like huh? I think more than 80% of NSmen do further their studies lor. Web Design was pretty fun and I managed to learn a bit of Dreamweaver, pretty afraid that I'll forget it in a couple of weeks. Sheesh. Finally got my external hard disk! Yea!

Tiring day today. Immediately after TV lecture, rushed down to Peace Centre with Joy to go print out the stills and get the mounting boards. Feeling quite weird now, better drink lots of water. Tried to do the Web Design assignment but really catch no ball for questions 6 and 7 so guess will leave it blank. O well, got a long day tomorrow, a day that I consider a gastric day. Fancy having lunch at 10 am!! Read from Elwin that wardens do go round catching people for their lanyard and that MOE officials will be in school tomorrow.

That is fast. In September Singapore will have its first reverse bungee! Going to beat Clarke Quay, so guess most of us will be waiting eagerly for it! At least I am.

A thing I learned today is before I comment, got to look back and see if anybody behind. Was jokingly teasing Pearlyn about the yellow lanyard and than came a voice behind saying that we must wear the lanyard. Looked back and it was I think a lecturer. Quite funny as she was also saying it in a playful tone. The new FMS office is so confusing, Joy and I spent about 15-20 minutes trying to figure where the enterance was. Luckily we met Kon and he tld us how to got here. But we still had to wait for about 45 minutes to an hour before we got to see Ms Thong cos she just read Joy's email!! Sheesh. Worse was that she rejected our consultation piece because she wanted to see the pictures the actual size. Can't believe that yr 2 is going to be so hectic. Next week got the Studio Production assignment and a quiz for Financial Planning and so far this week, I had only 2 tutorials. Wait isn't it only a Monday?? Contemporary Issue was quite fun today with all the discussion. The guy that Sherman, Caleb and I call Veron is actually a damn funny guy and also realised that there's this guy called Andrew who was my year in CJ and that Jia Ning is now his classmate in BA.
