A new layout on the last day of the hols. Got it from blogskins.com and really like it. Been wanting to have a plain layput like this but never knew how to go about doing so when I kind of figured how to navigate around blogskins.com, I chanced upon this layout, took it and changed a bit of the colours. The original layout had a picture of blue roses and the main colour was purple. Yup, some of the lines are still the original colour but changed the text colouring to blue. Really like it sia. Haha, I know that I said that like not long ago but yea, very happy that I managed to find this layout. Kudos to the person who created such a lovely layout. Man, wish I know how to do proper layouts sia.
How time flies, tomorrow is the start of school. IS starts at 10 am tomorrow for me. Not sure who will be in my IS class, so far only know that Sherman will almost certainly be in the same class as me for both the modules and Elise should be with me for one class. O well, just got to wait and see how it all turns out with the zoning and all.

A last burst of fire last night. After finally navigating for about 2 hours from church to Elise's house. Stupid 853, no longer operated there and I happily took it think I'll reach Elise's house by 7.30 latest. Reached there at around 8.30. Haha. Left there after a while and met up with Jopie, Elwin, Joseph and Willie at Suntec. Went to Elwin's house with Willie and Joseph to play mahjong. Interestingly is that we started at around midnight, the dice showed 3 6s in the final round and the moment we ended, we heard the national anthem on radio. Lost most of the rounds and just manged to win thrice I think. Haha. Nevermind, guess was the bonding behind it that mattered most. Went to have breakfast with Jospeh and Willie after that. Reached home 7+ and slept till around 11+. Can't seemed to sleep more as somehow my bioclock just will not allow it. O well. Guess just going to spend the last day of the hols lazing around. Not that bad an idea.

This maybe the year of The Scud. He seems to me like the most likely winner of this year's Wimbeldon after players like Agassi and Hewitt had been knocked out in earlier rounds. Most notable player missing is of course the king of grass himself, Pete Sampras. Think the last US Open was the last time we'll get to see 'Pistol' Pete in action. Been seeing some sniplets of Mark Philippoussis in action and must say with his current performance, he is probably the best serve and volley player in the tournament. Yup, that's the style the king uses to absolute perfection. No one in recent time has even come close to Sampras standard in serve and volley. If Philippoussis can continue his form and dominance at the net, only a fool will bet against him. Moreover with Philippoussis serving 164 aces, it kind of also shows that The Scud is back into business and that he has finally shrugged off his injury. Probably The Scud's biggest enemy is going to be himself as he can sometimes just self destruct and just hand his opponent the title. Really hope that this year's Wimbeldon will be his first of many Grand Slams to come. Tim Henman again disappoints the local crowd. He just can't seem to perform on the grass in Wimbeldon. If my memory serves me right, he has never qualified for the finals in Wimbeldon.
The women's event is going to be another boring affair as its a Williams sister final. Getting quite sick and tired seeing them in finals after finals. I will not mind it so much if its not for their attitudes. It's not a wonder that the French Open crowd booed them. The worst of all is their father, Richard Williams. Along with Jelena Dokic father, they are labelled "Fathers from Hell". The best thing that has happened to tennis is that Venus was beaten by some guy ranked 100+ a few years ago, otherwise till today, we'll still hear the same old banter that the women's circuit is too easy for them and they want to play in the men's circuit. I'm not really with impressed with the Williams sisters tennis as I personally feel that their main weapon is brute strength. Yes, their shots are quite accurate but its really the power behind each shot that makes it formidable. Strength seems to be the in thing in women's tennis, not only are the Williams sisters so dependent on them but also players like Lindsay Davenport and Amelie Mauresmo to name a couple. It is really quite unfortuante as such tennis can be really quite boring. Initally when you watch its quite fascinating but after a while, it just get so stagnant. At this point in time, the only player I feel who is more than capable of giving the Williams sisters a run for their money is Kim Clijsters. O well, just got to wait and see how women's tennis will progress. Maybe if Serena beats Venus again this final, Venus will just get so pissed that she quits tennis for good. Had reports coming out that she is getting quite frustrated of being upstaged constantly by her younger sister.

Graduation was a fantastic spectacle. The snrs were all so dressed and hyped up about the whole thing and the lecturers were all dressed so smart. J Lo looked fantastic in his suit, Cordelia and Pat Wong both were fantastic MCs. Jack Neo was the Guest of Honour and he was telling all those present about how he manage to succeed in the industry etc. His speech had bits of mandarin and dialect and was super funny. He mispronounced the word 'spur' and it sounded like 'sperm' to all of us. So we heard something like "...and that spermed me on". Haha. Worked with this girl from the other cohort called Lifen and a girl from Life Sciences named Zen. Both were a delight to work with. Not to mention too people like Pang, Mun, Mark, Yah Yah, Stella and the 2 other girls that I never managed to get their names. Got to say that the blazer after putting on did not seem so bad, or maybe just trying to console ourselves. Haha. Never knew that Daniel Yap and that radio girl who made me feel so bad when I had to use the lab were year 3s. Yup, thats blur me as usual. Evelyn Ng from light years was also there, think she was with some VIP cos she was seated in the VIP seats. The MCM teaching awards went to Mr Kwek, Kon and Robin Yee and no prizes for guessing who drew the loudest cheers. Kelvin Bik was the biggest winner and I believe also the best student MCM ever produced. He got a whopping 20 ADs!! Amazing stuff and of course he drew the greatest and loudest cheers. The only student who got a standing ovation from all the graduating students. His speech was heart felt and moving. When he was talking about how Kon was his mentor and all, Kon could not help but teared.
Congrats too to Hil for getting the SAFRA radio award and Joann. All the best guys!!

How could I forget. A sad day for the EPL; Gianfranco Zola is leaving Chelsea to return to play for his childhood favourite club Cagliari. It's a promise he once made that he'll return there to play. That move makes me respect Zola even more because he turned down the chance to play in the Champions League and an improved contract. A contract that would had yielded him more money. Cagliari is a Serie B side and Zola's pay packet will definitely been significantly less than what he is earning currently. But money seems to be not on the mind of this masetro who contines to dazzle us even at a ripe old age of 36. A player like Zola is a dying breed in modern day football, not only this loyal spirit of his but also attitude on and off the pitch. He truely is a role model for all aspiring footballers. I always thought and hoped that Gabriel Batistuta will return to Fiorentina to play out his career or return to Argentina to play. After all he is worshipped in Florence during his time playing for the Violas. He went down with them to play in Serie B and lead them to Copa Italias. To show their appreciation for him, fans erected a statue of the man they called Batigol in front of the stadium and even asked him to be Florence's mayor. His last act of sacrifice for the club was to leave it for Roma to probably help them ease their financial burden and to satisfy his urge for a championship. How can a player with his talent and charm not even have a even a championship medal to show? Off he went to join Roma with the blessings of some of the Fiorentina fans. On the first time match Roma played against Fiorentina, Batigol scored and cried openly. He refused to celebrate the goal and instead strugged of his team mates to be left alone. Fate has been cruel to him too as his last match for his country ended in shame when Argentina was knocked out in the first round. All that seems so distant now as Batigol reaches the end of his career. He has been a shadow of his former self and is now warming benches and wondering what his next step will be. Should he play in England or go to the UAE but I know that if he chooses any of the two, he'll lose the respect of some as those are places where you go to make more money than to play quality football. Unlikely now that he'll play for Fiorentina as they are now playing in the 3rd division. Think that Fiorentina has an ultra loyal servant in the form of Angelo di Livio. The captain followed them evn if it means ending his national team career and taking a huge pay cut. That is truely a true hero. Lucky Florence, a place where fans rioted for 3 days when Roberto Baggion moved to Juventus.

While reading about the tussle between the nature society and the golf course developer, this thought came to mind. Why is it that there are so many golf courses and driving ranges as compared to say football fields while there is a significant less number of golfers as compared to footballers. As an avid footballer, got to say that many of us do lament on the lack of spaces for us to play football. There is probably the saying that Sinagapore is lack of land etc but if that is so, than why is there more and more golf courses and driving ranges?? You do not need the space of a golf course to build sufficient football fields, probably a quarter and if you are generous enough than have half the space converted to football fields and there will be many happier people out there. Ok, maybe the reason is because golf courses generate money but if you can provide us with a footballing area, most of us will not mind paying a fee. Not the same prices at you can get to charge golfers of course. Hmm. Maybe that's the reason that there are more golf courses, well, that can only be my guess. If authorities can open up more places to play football, than Goal 2010 can still stand a remote chance of a reality without a "United Nations" team. I know that they will claim that there is more than sufficient fields and all, they might even cite Marina South as an example of having fields with goal post and all. I applaud that move but hey what about kite flyers?? Last Sunday when I was there, I saw the poor kite flyers flying their kites between the back of goal posts! What if the kid flying his kite gets hit by a ball and get injuried? O yes, probably than will they take action like always. A need for a "sacrifical lamb" before action is taken though any idiot can see that an accident is just waiting to happen. Just go through the archives of say the past year and see the accidents that could had been prevented had proper measures been taken, but no, it was always safe until an accident happened. Those to me, are true martyrs. They sacrificed for the better of others. A more recent example will be the sexual assualt in MacRitchie. That was just a waiting time bomb to explode. Even at this point of time, that person decides to attack again, odds is that he'll still be unlikely to be arrested. They claimed that rangers do patrol and all. Ask those people who faithly go to MacRitchie and they'll probably tell you that out of 10 times you go, chances of stumbling upon a ranger patrol is probably 0. Yes, they can tell you that the forest is so big etc but hey, if I go there so often, I should bump into a patrol at least once right?? Ok, back to my grouse on the golf course issue (no, I'm still very pissed with authorities acting only when seomthing happens though that something could had been prevented), the developers claim that if the land is not reclaimed than the golf course cannot be built. Mind you all these at the expense of nature and some very rare species of flora and fauna, even the migatory birds at Sungeu Buloh will be affected. My reply to the developers is that the golf course should be stopped than. Which is more important? Building another golf course for the benefit of a fraction of the population or saving the so very little of fragile nature we still can call our own. Do we want to reach a stage in our live when the future generation can only see the nature Singapore once had in cages or jars? Or better still imported from another country. Hey look, here's a native Singapore bird from Malaysia. Soon it'll be here's a Singaporean from Australia! Yes, it sounds so dumb but it looks like an incresing reality, the former that is.
Man, forgot all about my medical appointment. It's tomorrow and can't go course I still need to go for a blood test. Arghz!! Got to cancel it and see which day next week will the new timetable allow.

The Convention Centre is damn nice sia. To enter the auditorium, you got to walk thorugh a water arc. Never expected NP to have such spanking facilities. Breifing was so so and realised that not many people from our cohort is involved in the graduation. Only me, Yah Yah, Pamela Lie, Sabreena and Stella. Finally got a pair of black trousers today and I must definitely not grow fatter otherwise will soon not be able to wear that pair. Think the place I hate most to go is World of Golf. The salesman got a damn fucking attitude and a super fucking xia lan face; those face upon seeing you just want to tight slap, a slap that I truely feel he deserves. Instead of tending to the customers, he is there putting a ball on the 1st occasion and just now was reading a golf newspaper. He only tends to customers that he deem customers and from what I see is those Jap businessman. Can't stand these people who think that they are high and mighty just because he works in a pathetic little golf shop. World of Golf is not even some upmarket golf shop, its just a golf shop opned by World of Sports. What's so big about that?? Ignorant fuckwitt, or should I say dumb fuck or maybe those names are just too good for such people.

Please go and watch City of God if you can. 5 stars does not do it much justice. A really fantastic production coming from Brazil. Now I understand why even though I got the tickets at around 11.30am for a 6.45pm show, about half the tickets were sold; that means that since it opened on Thursday till today, every show was sold out. Amazing for a production like this that had barely any publicity.
Met Keng, Melly, JY, Melly and Brian today. Had a great time since we met till we left. The only irritating part was some fucker picked JY's phone and happily took off with it. A true cheapskate fucker. Bumped into a few people today; Rachael, Perrine, Martin, Gracie, Brenda and Hui Juan. What a small world. Briefing tomorrow and maybe going to Mambo, don't know yet but should be unless someone decides otherwise.

A show mainly for entertainment. Yup, that's Charlie's Angel for ya; just entertaining. Was disappointed also that there was no trailers screened!! Lido cheat my feeling. Haha. Was supposed to watch at Cine but they only left the front row seats so went to Lido to catch it. Had dinner at Sakura at Far East and must say that the food is good. Quite an enjoyable meal. But of course, the company too was good. Nothing quite beats going out with your pals for a good meal, show or drink. City of God surprisingly is very popular. Apparently since it opened last week, all the shows were sold out. Hope to be able to catch it. Don't want to miss such a good show.
Been getting lots of comments about my hair. The first thing people will say is "You cut your hair ar? So Short!" Haha. But I like it this way! Cooling sia. "Best" comments I heard so far is from Cass. She was saying that my hair looks like Everest and than implied it looked like a durain which m wondefrul Godma agreed! Haha.
