blue and white dream

My legs are aching from all the soccer this morning. Had a great time no doubt about it. Seng Long came and man, been so long since I last saw him. Guess he hardly changed one bit. And he was saying that I put on so much weight. Haha. Yea, agree with him, I indeed put on a lot of weight since we last met; since I was in Sec 4.

Played mahjong after that. Quite ok but lost in rather dumb ways. I thought I gamed when in fact I did not. Haha. Guess the guys will not really want to play with me after today cos like all my actions are quited delayed. Gotta think before taking or throwing a tile and not to mention that I am last when it comes to starting the game. Haha.

Yea, Willie helped me to buy a bottle of Cointreau, so yea, another bottle to my "collection". Should be watching Phone Booth tomorrow with the guys if Wings remember to organise.

Stupid aircon, suddenly decided to leak water and now my printer and monitor is wet. The screened suddenly turned white for a while than back to normal. Giving it a few more days before it breaks down.

Was surprised to see Bauhaus as one of the sponsors for the Germany, Scotland match. The match was quite interesting with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. Can see that Germany is trying to have a younger team now. Still remember that we used to joke about the German national team. Unlike most teams where a player's national team career is usually around 23 to about 32, the German team would be from 30 onwards. A prodigy will break into the squad at 28. National playing career for the Germans? Until 37. So glad that they have changed that "policy", otherwise Ballack and company will not be playing.

Realised that it is so ironic that the people in my former youth group where the ones that hurt me and care for me the most. The only reason why I cannot say that I hate my youth group is simply because of people like my Zichun, Yimei, Ivan, Karen, Cass and Phillip to name a few who are currently still in it. And people like Gavin, Jasmine, Yinxiu, Becky, Phoebe, Theresa etc who have left. How can I forget my Godma? Yes, those are the friends and bonds that I had made and are very thankful for. No matter what had happened in the past, we still maintain that same strong friendship as before. Especially my Godma, guess she really was there for me though I had disappointed her on so many occasions. She was always there for me when I needed her. Thank you Godma! Starangely enough too is that my closest friend from church was not even from my youth group! Yup, Daffy was not from it but has been my pillar of strength so often. Been there for my spiritual up, down, and basically my whole past 2-3 years. Was sthinking and reflecting during mass and He suddenly prompted me to be more forgiving to those who had hurt me. Yea, I know it is difficult by will no doubt try. Afterall, If God is for you, who can be against you?

Got to go sleep. So tired now and not sure if what I had blog made full sense. Tried to sum up all my thoughts in the few lines. Ok, need the rest, playing soccer later at 10.

Was looking at Melly's website and thought, wow, her site is getting better and better. Still remember during webcgra, Melly and I were sitting next to each other and we were like always lost and barely able to struggle just to catch up. Both of us were so blur about it and look at her now; a huge leap since than.

Just came back from Zouk for TP's IMD graduation. Must say that the productions there were fantastic. Almost every project there was of broadcast standard and not to mention that they got briiliant talents. All the way through, right from script, talents, production etc was so fantastic. Some groups managed to even get part time TCS actors and actresses to film in their production. A simple 10+ minutes piece done by some had such strong messages and they could really bring out the messages they wanted to drive through. The best piece was Lorong 27 by this guy called Kenny Tan (remember this name cos I believe we will definitely see his name more often) and it spoke about how people view things simply by the surface, but if we get to know more about the place or person, we will be able to see the true beauty of it. There was also a documentry about Soya Bean and if I had not known, I would had guessed that it was done by one of our broadcasters or a production house. Yes, that is the level of quality we are talking about. Really salute all the students from IMD for such wonderful work. Along with the rest of people who were there at Zouk, we are really impressed.

Haha. Williams sisters out of Roland Garros. At least will not see their father's smug remarks again for quite a while. Quite surprised that Justine Henin-Hardenne beat her. Initially thought only Kim Clijsters and Amelie Mauresmo were the only ones capable of beating the Williams sisters so when Mauresmo met Serena in the quarters thought that Serena will be beaten but instead Mauresmo was thrashed. So was thinking that only in the finals than will Serena be beaten cos Clijsters had already qualified but seems there isn't a need now.

I look up to
Everything you are
In my eyes you do no wrong
And I believe in you
Although you never asked me to
I will remember you
And what life put you through

Though the main score for Malena was a piece by an orchestral and had no lyrics, the song was clearly You're still you. Got to say that the song is by far one of the most suitable score for any movie, it simply summed up the entire show. Even without the lyrics, one can still sense in the music the feelings of the show; how Renato thought of Malena. All these despite the amount of scorn the entire town thought of her. You see, Malena was a very attractive woman who was the object of lust of every male and the object of hate of every female in the village. When her husband was supposedly killed in the war, Malena's life turned from bad to worst. Many man tried to take advantage of her and she was labelled a whore and was turned away by the stall holders, so uch that she had to get someone to do her shopping for her. And yes, even the person who did her shopping lusted for her. She was accused of seducing a married dentist and was sent to court. Imagine, being sued for something you are innocent of. She was found not guilty but could not pay for her legal fees. Her lawyer told her that she would never be able to pay him and forced herself onto her. In the end, she was "kept" by that bastard. As the war took its toll on Italy and Germany took over, Malena found herself with a German officer. But the moment the Italy was liberated from the Germans, the women attacked Malena, calling her a traitor. Yes, I know that this was a common treatment to those who "serviced" the enemy, but it was ironic cos the very people who drove her down that road were the very people who atatcked her. Beatened and shamed, Malena left the town. All this while, young Renato kept a yearnful watch on her and he despite not knowing her personally, knew her best. See the irony? Not long after Malena left, her husband returned. He had not died in battle but was wounded. The man who had lost his arm came back only to find that he lost his wife. He went round seeking the whereabouts of herbut no one will tell him. Those who spoke, ridiculed his wife and called her a whore. The poor man was heart broken. Renato saw it all and wrote a note to him telling him where his wife headed towards. He wrote a note simply beacause he did not have the courage to tell him. The man hopped on the next train and returned to the town a year later with his wife. It seemed like many things had changed but his love for her did not. The town was shocked to see her returned and immediately gossip emerged. But 2 women in the market told themselves that she was very brave to return. The turning point came when the 2 women siad good morning to her and when Malena replied, all the hatred and scorn disappeared. Instantly bonds were forged and wherever in the market Malena went, she was treated with respect and dignity. She proved the old saying right "The place to find back one's dignity is where one lost it". The show ended with Malena dropping some tomatoes and onions and Renato came over to help her. She and her husband in no time at all knew that it was this very young man who believed in Malena all this while and it was him that brought them together. The voiceover of Renato ended off by saying something like, "All the women that I have met asked me if I will remember them. I knew that they are somewhere in my heart. But the one that I will never forget is the one that never knew me."

Getting very irritated with my sister. A person of her age acting so foolishly and childishly. In a month, I believe that she takes at least 7 days MC. No, she's not sick, whenever she does not feel like going to woek, she'll take MC. She'll take more especailly when I do not have school. Self created holiday. Dumber still is that today is Thursday, and this week is supposed to be her day back to work after 3 weeks of leave and she has only been to work 1 day. Monday, yesterday and today on MC. Best part of her "sickness" is that the MC heals everything. She goes see the doctor but NEVER takes the medicine. So you think about it, is she really sick? I really do not know where she got ther fucked up attitude from. During this kind of economy, she wants to leave her job and go scout for others. Reason? Her friends who got retrenched all found better paying jobs and she is not happy about it, so she thinks that she can get a better job. Please. Her current job is very good in my opinion. True, during peak period, she may have to work late, but during off peak? She gets to go on very long leave and even when she goes back, its still very slack. Her manager is very accomadating, fancy your working hours is from ard 9 am but my sister can stroll into the office after lunch and her manager will not say anything. What does she epect? A win-win situation? Forget about it, this is the world. Your company has already given you so much slack and yet you are not happy?? Everyone had been telling her that and she will either just brusd it off or sulk. Stupid woman, getting more and more irritating. Arghz. I can't even enoy my holiday in peace. Her sense of timing is also very bad. Wait, what sense of timing? Her 5 minutes means half and hour. She likes to make people wait for her. 99% of the time, if say we are leaving at 12pm, she start going to the toilet everything at around 11.55 and make everyone wait for her. If we don't care and leave the house and wait for her downsatirs, she'll just sulk. Please... My primany school cousin has more sense of responsibilty than her.

Just as I thought that there was no or little hope left for the television programmes of today, ch 5 comes up with No place like home. Ok, it was funded by MDA, but still I felt that it was a very meaningful and heartwarming show. From what I saw today and the shots for next week's show, I believe the show is about family problems in Singapore. Problems like the whether to go all out for money or to pay more attention to ones family. Ok, there were corny lines in today's episode, lines like Magaret Chan reprising her Masters of the sea line; "I'll crush you like a cockroach", but still the show managed to deliver its intended message. The acting on the whole was very good, all thanks to vetern artistes like Lim Kay Tong, Tan Keng Hwa, Magaret Chan and Emma Yong. Next week's episode looks quite good too, with Amy Cheng taking lead. Another show to look forward too. And yes, will try to remember to catch Chemistry tomorrow. No, not to look out for someone, but to watch the show. Serious!

Was watching all the Atomic Kitten MTVs and think the one that I like best is The Last Goodbye. Think Lil looks super gorgeous in that MTV. Yea, I may seem girl crazy and all, but guess its just a way of relaxtion and escaping from thie madness of the world. Just doing something that I know that may sound dumb and all, but at the end of the day, if its able to put a smile on my face than yea, I'm happy. Haha. I know it sounds super brainless but maybe that's just my sense in all the senses that I go through everday. Or some people will say my madness in all this world's madness.

Was talking to Joanne quite a bit last night while playing pool. Well, at least I did most of the talking or should I say complaining. Felt better after that, guess it was just things that I wanted to get off my chest but just did not had the chance. So yea, thanks Jo, if I had not bored you.

Happy that Poh Ling is going to watch Travelling Birds with me. Haha. Finally found a person who is willing to watch. Hoping to be able to catch Finding Nemo next week too. Any takers?

What an embarassing sight Miss Japan was at Miss Universe 2003's evening gown segment. Can someone please tell the person who furbished her wardrobe that this IS a Miss Universe pageant and not a lounge hostess or call girl audition. I strongly do not think that an evening gown should be a sequined bikini top. Somehow or other that does not really remind me of an evening gown that is supposed to bring out elegance. Basing on what I saw, I think the designers of the 71 gowns agree too with me. Ok, not only was her "gown" sucky, she could not answer for nuts too. Think she spend more time giggling than answering her question. Please can someone tell her that this is not a porn flick and giggling and acting cute will lead you nowhere. During the sit around cand chit chat topic, I felt that Miss USA was quite bimbotic. Haha. Thankfully Miss Singapore did us proud during that clip by contributing intelligent answers. Glad to see Czech Republic and Serbia & Montenegro doing well. After years of war, at least we see a different light towards them. Maybe its rigged but even if it is so that the 2 of them are there, got to say kudos. Hopefully from now on, we'll only see beauty emerging from the war torn region. And no, I don't mean more beautiful females, but nicer news coming out from there. Though got to say that Miss Serbia & Montenegro really answered very badly too. Felt that her question was the easiest to answer and she actually screwed it up?? Why did she choose to speak in English when her English isn't that good? Think that my have compromised her a bit. Thankfully the winner Miss Dominican Republic was better than the other 2. Not too bad actually and quite a deserving winner.

Max is another good show. Got to say that the Film Fest shows that I caught has so far all been very good. The show was about Hitler and Max and it is set in Germany in 1918. The latter is a modern artist and guess how they showed it? Yes. The film makers painted Max's art gallery door red, blue and yellow; the Bauhaus colors. Even within the gallery itself, the bottom of the main pillars were painted the same 3 colours. One look at Max's house interior and the first thing that strikes you is how Bauhaus inspired the entire room was. Even the toys his children played were Bauhaus inspired. Guess that's the best way to show a modern artiste in that era. Too lazy to type more about the show cos there is just so much about it. It's another one of those shows that requires deep thinking and I will admit that I cannot fully interpret all the messages the maker was trying to show.

Ok, about the Chemistry contest. Yes, Pearlyn and her boyfriend is on it, but I realised that Crystin Chiam Huiling is on it too. Haha. Thought I'll never get to see her again after we left CJ, but it seems that I was wrong. Haha. Got to say that her answer is one of the lamest ever. Please that was taken from those chain emails.

Chemistry means...
Crystin: Even when there’s silence, it’s a comfortable one ... you can sometimes walk away feeling you’ve had the best conversation ever.

Atalanta relegated from Serie A after 3 seasons. Seems like the main factor has to be Taibi. Haha. Ever since returning to Italy from Manchester United, he was involved in relegation battles. If my memory serves me right, this is the second club in 3 years that he played for and they both have have been relegated. His first season at Reggina ended off with them being relegated. Atalanta happily snapped him up and after 3 seasons, history repeated itself. They got relegated just this morning, ironically against Reggina. Wonder if any other club will buy him. My bet it'll be one of the newly promoted clubs. Unlikely to be Sampdoria though. If a Serie A club is to sign him, than maybe it will be Bologna.

How could I forget about this girl I met on dominoes. She claimed that she was in the porn industry. Haha. Whether to believe a not. I was not really that convinced but just decided to play along. She was chatting about how well it paid it is to do porn and that she intends to write about porn stars after she "lifespan" is up. Quite an interesting conversation. It ended off with she asking me join her. Haha. Cos of that, I believe that she was fake even though she sweared that she was telling me the truth.

Another day of just doing nothing much. Spend most of my day doing playing dominoes and a bit of pool. Followed my parents out for a while and met that sweet radio snr. Think her attachment is around Paya Lebar that area. Well, dominoes was a bit better today. Other than that, had a very uneventful day. Should be meeting Keng and some of the rest to watch Brian's dance competition. Good luck Brian. Keng and the rest are watching Brue Almighty before that. Not joining them cos not really that interested. If Joanne don't back out last minute than will be watching Max with her tomorrow. Really want to watch Travelling Birds but no one wants to watch!! Sheesh. Anyone out there interested?? Keng? Melly? Yah Yah? Its a 90 minutes show about birds migration. Yes, it can be considered a documentry but the way the show was shot and the scenery are supposed to be absolutely breathtaking. So anyone interested? Hmm. Maybe can try jio Ros after her exams. Afterall not many of my friends are actually willing to go with my to Sungei Buloh to nature watch, except her. Haha. So maybe can try her. Man, this holidays is reall getting more and more boring. Spend almost the whole day doing nothing. Maybe will go down Taka earlier tomorrow to look for a drink mixer.

Was reading the review of Star Search and Amazing Race 4 in today's Life section and I begin to wonder what our local media is heading. Seems like in order to make good shows, the shows must put people down. The review for Star Search ended off with "cruelty pays". Wow, you mean that's what our local media wants. Basically the reviewer was comparing it with, yes, Amercian Idol and he lamneted on how Star Search lacked an acid tongue judge like Simon and how polite judges seem fake and all. Ok, maybe most of our talk may be sharp tongued and blunt etc. But harlowwwwwwwwww, Star Search has children too. You mean for the junior category, if the young contestant's performance is not up to standard, the judges should just ridicule the kid and use Simon's style to condemn the kid?? If that really happens, who is really the person who deserves to be condemned?? I believe it should be the judge. So we be nice to the kids and mean to the adults? Than that will than really be fake.

There is something that I always wonder. Why is it on the reviews we see Mediacorp shows and more often than not the shows get not so good reviews? Say 1-7 out of 10 get not that good reviews. Why do we hardly see Mediaworks shows? Is it because the shows on Mediaworks are so bad that they are not worthy of any comments? Somehow or other, I believe those reviews are simply advertisements to put Mediacorp down. An interesting strategy. Not to highlight my shows but to play the shows of my rival down.

Just had my worst 2 games of dominoes. Quite even first game, but got trashed big time in the second. My worst performance and result to date. Super sianz. All the bones was against me. Believe the game is rigged sia. With the bones I threw out, my opponent has only 1 set that can score points and she always seemed to have it. Third round was not much better. When I got a little bit more option, it meant that I had lots of bones and of course my opponent would have finish before I came even close to finishing. The end? Lost based on the bones I had o hand. Sianz. Think I'll go sleep now and play again when I wake up. Sianz sianz.

O yah. Joy, I can't seem to scroll and read your blog. Is the scroll bar hidden?
