blue and white dream

A whole afernoon out shopping with my parents. Legs damn tired now. Guess I was mainly window shopping and the person who bought most was my dad. Haha. Though he always say that he does not buy much, seems like he is usually the one who buys most. Haha. My mum kept asking me to buy the model helicopter but I hesistated cos the size that I wanted cost $72. The $25.90 model is far too small and would not had turned out very nice. The bigger model will have far more detail, right up to the engine. The smaller one's greatest detail is probably the cockpit seats. Quite torn between the Blackhawk and Apache. The former's body is quite plain but the inside has lots more detail. Seats and all. The Apache is quite the opposite. The body with all its weapons looks so fierce and grand. A sight to behold. But guess the bigger Apache is more popular considering it was sold out at the shop and Seiyu had only 1 box left. Hopefully I will not see the Huey or 'Littlebird', otherwise I'll be more lost. Haha. Maybe the Huey is not so high up on my list but if I can find a 'Littlebird' model that has lots of details, I will buy it. Man, talking as though I am a master at building. Not sure if I can actually even do a decent job. The best thing about me? Now I may seem so keen on building them and all, but I will not be surprised that by the end of this holiday, I will not even have bought a single model. Well, that's just me. Got to change this bad habit.

I really have no idea why I my layout does not show. When I put a direct link to my layout, that page just will not show. I really have no idea why that happens. Its really so frustrating. Guess I'll not be rotting at home today afterall. Going to Bugis with my parents. Hopefully the model helicopter I want is on sale. Must really go see the difference between the one at the shop next to action city and the one at Seiyu. Seems the same at a glance but the price is more than twice at Seiyu. If no difference than I'll definitely not buy from Seiyu. Got to get the resin glue too. Hope the entire kit excluding the paint will cost under $50. Not really willing to spend above that.

Not a very good start to the day but guess it ended quite well.

Met Yimei on my way to church. Was so long since I last met her and wow; was so happy when I met her. Really miss her. She is one of my closer and better friends in church (yes, I do have good friends in church too). Promise to go to mass together next week, so can't wait for next Saturday. Hope she'll be able to get her course too. NIE must be blind not to take her in cos she is like one of the nicest person around and she will definitely make a very good PE teacher. Come on, she is able to do like 10 pull ups. Yes military style. Yes guy, military style. That is how fit she is. Her fitness will put most guys to shame and her body is super tone. No fats, just muscles. If you are thinking of a Jojo Sinclair, nope she is far from it. She's actually a gymnast. A national gymnast. My darling little sis knows her too. Haha. Rite dear?

Think will be another boring day tomorrow. Thinking of a another layout. Maybe shall do it tomorrow. Got to say that all my layouts are like so simple. Compared to people like Melly, Joy and Yah Yah, mine is like. Erm, better don't say. Quite embarassing. Haha.

Anyway, supposed to cut down on drinking but really do not have much discipline. I really cannot resist a good drink. Well almost any drink. Fell in love with Cointreau and asked Willie to help me buy on his way back to Singapore. Hope that one of his friends is not buying hard than can help me buy. Hopefully he can get two bottles, than Joseph and I can have a bottle each. If not that probably I'll give it a miss and let Joseph have that bottle. Will finish my Bailey's first than.

Amazing Race 4 made a very explosive start. Alliance and betrayal right from the first point. But at the end of the day, there was only alliance and sporting play. The first three teams did very well to get to the finish by waiting and helping their opponents!! Better still as the 3 teams walked to the finish together and thus there were 3 first teams. Wow. Within them was Amanda and Chris, they did have their fair share of quarrels but they apologised to each other almost immediately! And Steve and Dave? The supposed old folks of the race. Their friendship was so strong that it really amazes me. When 1 was down, I think was Dave, Steve did not chid him as some teams would obviously had done. Instead he helped his friend who was in pain all the way. The went as far was creating steps in the snow so that his friend would have less pain going up the slope. But the sweetest of all has to be Debra and Steve, the married couple. All throughout the race, they took it like a true couple. When Steve was down, Debra will encourage him and console him and when she was down, Steve would cheer and encourage her. At 1 point, Debra was so afraid that the moved so slowly and Steve at the other side of the crossing kept cheering her on. When she slowed down, he slowed down. Though they came in last, they showed to us, how beautiful a marriage can be. Theirs, at least from the hour plus on screen seemed so beautiful. They are truely, it seems, of a marriage made in heaven. Ok, 1 thing I did not like about the show was that they kept referring Millie and Chuck as virgins. Only implies 1 thing. American relationship is all about sex. Must be a big thing there to have a relationship with no premarital sex.

Star Search was not that bad. A bit like Amercian Idol but less hype and packaging. More of a family kind of show. The judges? No Simon, Randy or Paula characters but every pleasant few to watch. The American Asian guy was a fucker. How he tried to win the audience for his comedian segment? Poked fun at his own Asian roots and Bruce Lee. Thankfully the judges and Americans had more taste and he did not win.

Now can only hope that ch 5 does not screw the shows up. Again.

Amazing Race 4 tonight and amazingly (no pun intended), Amazing Race is just about the only reality television programme that I watch. I really hope ch 5 will not spoil the show by having that fucking sms thing again. The one similar to American Idol, I'm sure you people know what I mean by that stupid money spinning gimmick. Star Search tonight. Don't know but I've got this feeling its going to be something like the Just for Laughs series. A show where by lay people can go up and showcase their talents. Anyway, feel that the standard of shows on the telly has dropped a great deal. More and more crappy shows. Ch 5 has that what shit? The one that pits people of a different trade, what shit is that. Than they buy shows like 30 seconds of fame. That somehow reminds me of Kids Central's 1 minute of fame. Wonder if Kids Central just by chance thought up of 1 minute of fame or they copied the Americans or vice versa. Can't stand the new season of 1 minute of fame too. What the fuck are the producers thinking; a battle of the sexes segment catered to preschool kids?? Why push these kids into the sexual debate at such young ages?? Another thing I can't stand is the trailer for Ms USA. It mentions something about men solving issues and there background is filled with battle sounds and when they mention about women solving issues, they show the women parading in the paegant. They give the notion of world peace. That is so sterotypical and downgrading. It really gives the feel that they are trying to imply that women are bimbos!!

Yea, got version 3 up and it is dedicated to Paolo Maldini and AC Milan for winning the Champions League. No, I'm not abandoning Juve. I'm not a person who supports only teams that win. I've been a Juve fan for so long and it was even though they struggled in the middle of Serie A in the late 90s and I will always continue to support them. Forza Bianconeri!!

What a way to end a final. What a cruel way. Penalties are probably the worst and best way to end a stalemate of 120 minutes. The winner was justified and the loser, dignified. It is definitely no shame to lose on penalties. The game? It was just classical italian football. Two teams who not only know the catenaccio well but is also able to deliver it. The result was 0-0 but the match was hardly boring. The technical football dished out by both teams was fantastic and the defence was superb.

Though I was hoping that it will be del Piero who will lift the cup, it wasn't that bad to see Maldini lift it too. As I mentioned earlier that this final is probably the last for Maldini and winnng it is a small consolation for is World Cup misery. Afterall he has dedicated his whole life to 1 country and club. A truely loyal player. My bet is that when he retires, the no. 3 jersey will also be retired as a mark of respect for this elegant defender. Del Piero is only 28 and has at least 4 more chances to lift the cup. Somehow or other, I've got this feeling that this prodigal son will lift it in the next 2 seasons. By 30, I'm sure he will be crowned champion again.

Much credit has to go to the 2 keepers too. It's amazing that they saved 5 penalties between themselves. Ok, Juve had rather weak takers, but still we should not take the credit from Dida; he guessed the right directions. Buffon's effort to save Seedorf's penalty was a beauty. The penalty was brilliantly taken and the save was equal to it. A mark of an excellent keeper.

Thought I wil be relaxing on my drinking, but just cannot fight the temptation to drink. It was supposed to be 6 cans between Joseph and, but in the end? 18 cans between the 2 of us and Willie, but enjoyed the drinking last night. It was good. Learned to play mahjong too. Not that good but had beginner's luck. Managed to win about 3 rounds, but must admit that was very lucky cos at times I bearly knew I won. Haha. So Jo, next time can go your house and play liao. Got, us both, Willie, Elwin, Shiyi, Anqi, Dot, CZ, Ros, Ying Ying and Xuefen to name a few. Since Willie is willing to come down, than we technically need only 2 more players and I am pretty sure that Shiyi and Dot will come down. Vance will play too right? So yea yea, more mahjong!!

Champions League early tomorrow morning and it features the 2 most worthy teams. Though I am rooting for Juve to win, I will not be too sad if AC win, partly because of Paolo Maldini and AC is a team that I greatly respect. A team with a very rich history and can boast of having the greatest players ever to grace the soccer fields. I guess the Champions League is a mild consolation for Maldini's bitter disappointment at the last World Cup at the hands of the referee. None the less, the players playing tonight are all true and worthy champions in their own way. Sad fact is that Pavel Nedved is not playing, otherwise the encounter will be even more captivating.

What is installed tomorrow morning? Players who are the very best in the business. In attack for Juve, we have del Piero against Maldini. The 2 captains the very best in the business. Del Piero is a master on the pitch, he is more than capable of making a fool of the opponents, scoring and creating goals. Maldini on the other hand reads the game with such precision that attackers wonder if he wrote the script for the match. In AC's attack, we have Inzaghi vs Thuram. Inzaghi may be always caught offside, but when he breaks it, you can expect a goal. Like I always say, Inzaghi may be caught 9 out of 10 times offside, but that 1 time he breaks the offside, it will be a goal. Thuram has long been regarded as sound defender who can turn the defence into attack. To me Carlos is way too overrated. Thuram is the true master in turning defence into attack. Most importantly is that he remembers that he is a defender and will come back to defend after he attacks. In midfield, we have Davids for Juve and Rui Costa for AC. Davids is a real workhorse and is very much like Roy Keane at his very best. He is a true midfield general who gives nothing but his 110% in every match. Along with Tacchinardi, they can win almost any midfield battle. Rui Costa, long considered to be the best play maker in Serie A, even better than Zinadine Zidane. He can create openings in almost any defence. A super creative player, he is more than able to pry any defence with much ease. With him is Pirlo and Guttuso, players who are very commited to them game and can stop attackers in the tracks. In goal we have Buffon for Juve and Dida for AC. Buffon, being themost expensive goalkeeper in the world is certainly living to his price tag. Regarded as of the best goalkeepers in the world, it will take something special to beat him. Dida has kind of pushed Abbiati from the no. 1 jersey can he has justified it by showing that he has a very safe pair of hands. But than behind a defence like his, who needs a keeper??

My team of the match from those playing?

In goal:
Gianluigi Buffon

Defence:
Paolo Maldini
Lilian Thuram
Aleesandro Nesta
Paolo Montero

Midfield:
Edgar Davids
Manuel Rui Costa
Alession Tacchinardi
Alessandro Pirlo

Attack:
Alessandro del Piero
Filippo Inzaghi

Version 3 will feature the captain of teh winning team! Forza Italia!!

I must say that I am definitely neither a cat hater nor am for culling of cats, but I really wonder who is really to be blamed for the culling of cats. I know it has been a long standing practice to cull strays but now with SARS, it seems more rampaged and certainly more publicised. Swho or what is to be blamed? SARS? The cats? The scare issues shown on our media? Or what? To me, ironically it is probably the cat lovers themselves. Not all of them but those who feed the cats. Time and again, we have heard or read about people feeding them and how harmful it is to the eco balance, but do all those reports and warnings seemed to have fallen into deaf ears. The result of their irresponsible act? An significant increase in the cat population. No longer do they need to fend for themselves or do they have to hunt for their own food. All the cats in Singapore need to do is to reproduce and be fed. Why do these people not see that their act of "sympathy" does more harm than good. They are in fact harming the eco system and look at the result; more cats, more pigeons, more rodents, more pest like cockcroaches. Even the smaller birds like sparrows are harmed. In the past, they only got predators like cats to fear, but now? Even birds like pigeons and crows will not hesitate to harm them and muscle their way to the food. No, I'm not hoping for cats to go around hungry but I want to say is that these cats are more than capable of fending and feeding themselves. Let them do it and not play busybody to nature. Cats, no matter how domesticated, are still fully capable of hunting and feeding themselves. It is and instinct to them and not something they learn.

Bowling for Columbine lived fully up to my expectations. The way the show was made, the people they interviewed was breathtaking. Ok, to some people I suppose, it may seem like a 2 hour documentry but I can assure you that you will NOT leave the cinema feeling ripped. What all the critics said about the show is true. Those quotes from critics you read on the poster is true. It really shows you another side of the media and the US. The priorities of the people in power, how fucked up the National Rifle Association is and how ignorant some people can be. I guess some of you may have heard read how K-Mart stopped selling firearms and ammo, but what you never know was what made them change their mind. What was caught on film by Michael Moore was history. The way K-Mart initially treated them, the PR and all. What he did with 2 victims of the Columbine tragedy that made K-Mart change that stance. It also shows the power of the media. While watching it, you will laugh at it at certain moments at how stupid how some people can be and how stupid some laws are. At points you will want to shout fuck you fucking bastard or fuck you, you bigot at Chuck Heston, NRA's president. You will see how inhuman he is and how he shrugs off the gun killing of a little 6 year old girl. O yah, Singapore's Jesmine Ho is also shown in the film.A scene on her bowling.

Ok, I'm super blur. Wanted to catch La Ciudad, but thought it was tomorrow when it is today!! Sheesh. Looks like I'm not fated to catch it. Nevermind, catching Bowling for Columbine tomorrow. Have very high expectations of it and am looking forward to it living up to that expectation. After 4 straight days of tiring activity, spend the whole of today slacking aroundand playing CM3. Too bad CM4 is too slow on my comp, otherwise I'll be playing it on and on. Managing West Brom and have led them to the EPL.

Was thinking a lot while playing CM3. Was thinking about friendship and all. I realise that I think a lot when I'm alone and doing nothing. Been thinking how some of my friends are so poser. Putting up a front, a brave or mature front when they are actually so weak and immature inside. On the surface I fell for some guises and have been hurt when I found out the truth. Guess all that have made me more wary of people and more doubting. Why do people pretend who they are not so badly?? Ironically these are people are always against posers and always scorn at them. Is it because subconciously they know that they themselves are in fact posers are do not want people to notice it so they put other people down? Why some of my friends like to label and call others hurtful names? Is it a self protecting device? A device that automatically comes up when they meet a person who they long to be but cannot? Why are people so afraid of letting other people know who they really are? Afraid of letting see people see their true beauty. Fear of rejection or sure cowardice? I've realise that these friends of mine have grown so deep in their acting that they soon forgot who they really are. I really hope that these friends of mine will realise that it does not take a intellect to see through their mask. It takes a matter of time before those around them see who they really are. Some people after seeing the truth have actually fallen out with that person. I know that all of us at some point of time wear masks, but I really hope that they will wear it less often and show us the person that I already know deep inside. Maybe its just my suspicion, but at least let me see so that I know the true you.

Think must dig up my Chinese proverbs book this hols, feel that I'm losing it, must take it out to refresh myself. Been quite addicted to Chinese music and all. Just managed to download Lan Xing Mei's Yi Jian Zhong Qing and Sally Yeh with George Lam's Xuan Ze. So super songs. Downloaded Evanescence's Bring me to life live version MTV. Amy Lee looks so different there. Looks much fatter and shorter. That MTV was quite cheesy; all the steps and all. Seems like they cannot decide that the song was pop, alternative or rock. Their movements were just so weird. Paul McCoy was so distracting doing some steps that boy bands will do and Amy Lee was moving around the way Avril will move. Can so imagine Avril doing what Amy Lee did. But nevermind, just enjoying the air con and happily on the comp listening to my mp3s.
